With the built-in Wi-Fi function of EOS 4000D, users can enjoy easy remote Live View shooting from smartphones via Camera Connect app, making it more convenient to take self-portraits or group photos, or explore more creativity by shooting from high or low angles. The wireless connectivity also facilitates easy browsing and download of photos on smartphones, as well as sharing to social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, meeting the shooting and sharing habits of today’s users.

EOS 4000D is one of the most affordable choices for beginners to experience the powerful and reliable performance of EOS optical technologies. It features a 18-megapixel APS-C format Canon CMOS sensor for easy creation of images with beautiful background blur. Coupled with DIGIC 4+ digital image processor with high-speed 14-bit image processing for fine gradation and vivid color reproduction, high-quality landscapes and portraits can be captured with ease. The camera also offers a standard ISO range of ISO 100-6400, expandable to ISO 12800 (H), to facilitate flexible shooting in various conditions ranging from outdoor to dim environment.

The compact and lightweight EOS 4000D, with only 129 x 101.6 x 77.1mm in size and 389g in body weight, offer excellent SLR operability with comfortable grip and dedicated buttons. Combined with all-round shooting specifications, they make the perfect fit as the first DSLR cameras for beginners.

  • 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor
  • DIGIC4+ processor
  • ISO 100-6400 (exp. to 12800)
  • Full HD (1080p) video recording, up to 30fps
  • Video Snapshot mode
  • 3fps burst mode
  • 9-point AF system
  • Pentamirror optical viewfinder, approx. 95% coverage
  • 2.7in LCD, 230k dots
  • Wi-Fi (no NFC)
  • 500-shot (approx.) battery life
  • SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slot

The EOS T100 offers an APS-C sensor, a 9-point autofocus system with a single cross-type point, Full HD video recording, 3fps continuous shooting, an ISO range of 100-6400 (expandable to ISO 12,800) and a fixed (non-articulating) rear screen. The specs are basic but adequate for beginners in DSLR photography.

Unlike the 24.1MP EOS 2000D, however, Canon has opted for an 18MP APS-C sensor here. The rear screen on the EOS 4000D also measures 2.7in size and has a very basic 230k-dot resolution, against the 3in 920k-dot screen of its sibling.

The camera has been designed with Wi-Fi, though without NFC, and while it can shoot unlimited JPEGs, it can only capture six Raw files in a burst. It's offered with an 18-55mm III kit lens that has no image stabilization, one that sadly doesn't employ Canon’s quiet USM or STM autofocus motors.
